There is no higher calling or greater purpose in life than service to others.  It calms the pangs of one’s soul in times of trouble, and makes you a better, happier and more joyful person.  And importantly, at the end of this journey, it allows us to be grateful that our lives had meaning and purpose that extends beyond our life, much as does the water ripple upon a still lake set upon it by a small pebble.
