Maxwell arrested and indicted on a stack of charges
July 14, 2020. Bob Bianchi appeared on Fox and Friends to discuss the arrest and indictment of Ghislaine Maxwell, the woman accused of assisting in the sex trafficking ring run by Jeffrey Epstein.
Here are the charges for which Maxwell has been indicted:
- Conspiracy to entice minors to travel and engage in illegal sex acts
- Enticement of a minor to travel and engage in illegal sex acts
- Conspiracy to transport minors with intent to engage in illegal sexual activity
- Transportation of a minor with intent to engage in illegal sexual activity
- Perjury (2 counts)
Bianchi Explains that each of these crimes has the potential to carry 10 years imprisonment to life in prison, making it highly unlikely that Maxwell will spend another day free in her life.
In addition to her alleged crimes, Maxwell attempted to avoid arrest in somewhat bizarre fashion. Bianchi explains that both her flight risk status and the severity of her alleged crimes make it extremely unlikely that she will be released prior to trial.
Looking ahead, the defense has a tough job ahead of them. As Bianchi points out, judges and prosecutors do not take kindly to the crimes against children that are on trial in this case. It is unlikely Maxwell will receive much, if any, leniency even if she helps authorities track down others involved in the crime ring.
