“The past is a place of reference, not a place of residence.” The past is a tool, but not a very good tool, especially if you allow your mind to be held hostage to mistakes, regrets, and disappointments. The future is also not a great tool–it is only a direction. Life is lived in the present moment, the only place where one can make a difference. The present moment does not rely on the past or future, but it certainly can be affected by it, if we allow. We have the control of where we allow our aimless minds to go, and what to dwell upon. Settle in and accept the past mistakes, and be grateful more for the blessings of the past that you overlooked or did not appreciate enough. Be hopeful for the future, but do not hold on to the wheel of life to a point where you are paralyzed with fear. Get present, and stay there with a general sense of where you want to go and what you want to do. Then, be peaceful in the present knowing the universe conspires to make what you need in reality, a reality.
Peacefully in the present,
Bob Bianchi
